Requirements to be considered for the Campbell Second Chance Initiative Program:
**Please note that we are no longer accepting applications for cohorts at Anson Correctional or Sampson Correctional Institution. We anticipate the next recruitment cycle will begin in January 2027**
- Must be incarcerated within a North Carolina Prison
- Must be at least 19 years old
- No higher than a Security Risk Group (SRG) level 1
- At least 90 days infraction free; with no level C infraction within six (6) months prior
to starting semester - High School diploma or equivalency; Preferred score of 2500 on the 2002 GED or
minimum equivalency score of 600 on the new HiSET high school equivalency test.
High School Equivalency scores below 2500 may be considered for selection. - Must have a reading score of 10th grade on TABE, WRAT, or similar formal testing instrument.
- Must have a maximum of 14 years and a minimum of 7 years remaining on your sentence.
- Any substance abuse related infractions within the past 12 months will require completion of the Alcohol Chemical Dependency Program.

Formal applications for interested individuals can be requested by case managers within correctional facilities.
