About the Campbell Adult and Online Education (AOE) Master of School Administration Program

The Master of School Administration (MSA) program emphasizes leadership and problem-solving ability through the educator’s exposure to real-world experiences. An Electronic Evidence portfolio throughout the program creates opportunities to do the work of school administrators, and establishes a “tool kit” of ideas and materials which will lead to successful leadership in schools. Among other evidence of leadership, this portfolio demonstrates positive impacts on student achievement and development, school culture and community engagement, as well as effective management of resources.

Master of School Administration Course Format

Campbell Online offers the first 9 courses (27 credit hours) 100% online. The remaining 7 credit hours require in-person internship experience in a school setting.

Why Choose Campbell AOE for Your School Administration Degree

Goals

The goals of the program are to create life-long learners who value professional growth in each of the North Carolina Standards for School Executives; to extend the candidate’s exposure to literature and research; to broaden the candidate’s background in finance, curriculum, law, and school safety; and to provide collaborative models of data-driven decision making.

By studying national and state standards, M.S.A. students will demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge, dispositions and performance necessary to become effective school administrators. Successful completion of this program results in the School of Education and Human Sciences supporting the candidate for licensure from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. There is no examination necessary to complete the program, but the portfolio (built over the course of the curriculum) is required.
